In this role, Toni coached and supported leaders across 14 states. Toni hosts the forthcoming podcast School DisruptEd and has presented on inclusive practices at many conferences, including SXSWEdu, EdSummit, and the National Charter School Conference. Toni served as a state coach for the Council for Chief State Schools Officers as a part of their inclusive leadership initiative and has been featured in articles in The Hechinger Report, Getting Smart, Forbes magazine, ELearning Industry, and is a contributing author to the upcoming book Inclusive Leadership: From Theory to Practice.

CoP Overview

When leaders design systems with learner variability at the center, all students benefit. This CoP is designed to ensure leaders can name the criteria for inclusive school-wide systems, specifically as it relates to learner variability, and evaluate their existing vision and systems through this lens. Leaders will walk away with a framework for inclusive schools and an analysis of their own systems and a set of concrete action steps needed to improve their systems.

Target Audience: CoP should include a school leader OR other leader or teacher leader who has influence and decision-making authority. Special education staff should join with another school leader or teacher leader. The leader will be expected to evaluate and refine existing school systems during the CoP, so the participants should include a team, to support buy-in, and someone with decision-making authority, to support implementation.
