DCSC Congratulates NOLA Schools on State Assessment Results

The Diverse Charter Schools Coalition congratulates member schools Bricolage Academy of New Orleans, Morris Jeff Community School, and the International School of Louisiana on outperforming both the statewide and district averages in the 2017 Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) assessments. The three schools are in the top ten highest performing schools in all of Orleans Parish.
Diverse Charter Schools Coalition Congratulates Broad Prize Finalists

The Diverse Charter Schools Coalition congratulates the three finalists of the 2017 Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools, Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) Network in Denver, Success Academy Charter Schools in New York and Harmony Public Schools in Texas. Two of the finalists, DSST and Success Academy are founding members of the Coalition, which has a core belief in practicing, promoting and expanding diversity in charter schools.
Diverse Charter Schools Coalition 2017 Award Winners

The Diverse Charter Schools Coalition Board, members, staff, and partners honored Blackstone Valley Prep as School of the Year for best exemplifying the Coalition’s values. The Coalition also awarded Valor Collegiate as the Best Newcomer School and the International School of Louisiana with the Achievement Gap Award for demonstrating exceptional commitment to successfully closing achievement gaps. The inaugural awards were presented during the DCSC Annual Convening on Sunday, June 11th.
Internship in Media and Communications

We are seeking a communications intern for the fall semester, with the potential to continue through the Spring 2017 semester. The intern’s primary role will be 1) to assist in growing the organization’s presence and brand in media, education and policy circles and 2) to expand and maintain an active social media presence via Twitter and Facebook.
