Event Details

This live virtual event is hosted by the People’s Collective for Justice and Liberation.

The Collective UnSummit will be a two part virtual event that aims to convene a public forum to highlight, discuss, and uplift a myriad of intersectional and cross-racial solidarity efforts.

For this inaugural Collective UnSummit, the focus is on amplifying the movement work rooted in the South, which has frequently been overlooked and invisibilized. Often missing from mainstream narratives and despite not being given critical resources, the South has shown time and time again–throughout history and in recent times–its growing power and potential for limitless transformative change. Of particular note, the Asian American and Pacific Islander community population has grown exponentially across the South: 112% in Florida, 131% in Georgia, 42% in Louisiana, and 128% in Texas since 2000.

For participants, we hope the Collective UnSummit will serve as a reflection point post election, on how folks are navigating the ongoing pandemic. This is also an opportunity to celebrate, take pauses, and actions together as we bridge radical ancestral roots and visions of our new world.

The Collective UnSummit will focus on what you’re curious about and what you want to spotlight based upon your questions, inspirations, and celebrations.
