Scaffolding 2.0: Elevating English Learner to New Heights

This is a two-day workshop on Friday, December 13 and Monday, December 16, 2019.

Day 1 (Friday, December 13): SCAFFOLDING READING
We take you step-by-step through the process of adapting text by implementing the key scaffolds that allow English Learners greater access to reading. Discover how to strategically embed “good reader” questions into text that promote literacy and engage students in higher-order thinking.

Day 2 (Monday, December 16, 2019): SCAFFOLDING WRITING
We break down the key scaffolds necessary in facilitating student writing and give you the opportunity to apply them with the support of teacher peers. Discover an array of “amplification activities” that concretize student learning around new content and language.
