Thank you. Thank you for not only the work that you do everyday around intentional integration, but also for your commitment to this coalition.
Over the past 4 months we have held annual member meetings with our members across our growing coalition – 75 members in 22 states representing more than 80,000 students. This annual member meeting process has reminded us of what started this coalition in 2014: relationships.
By meeting with DCSC members, we have ensured that our 3rd cohort of Communities of Practice represent even more members than in years past, we have provided opportunities for DCSC members to join Excellent School Visits through the Explorer program, and we have incorporated the collective input of our members to determine our theme for this year’s Annual Convening, Care, Courage, Commitment, which we’re taking as our guidepost for this year.
But that’s not all. From this year’s annual member meetings we are thrilled to share that:
Members are loyal DCSC promoters! We have an eye-popping 78 net-promoter score!
DCSC programming will continue to address topics based on member input.
We democratized our Member of the Year selection process to invoke greater inclusivity.
Membership dues participation is at an all-time high, exceeding our goals.
Of course we will continue to grow because we know there are more excellent models of diverse-by-design education across the country, more leaders who want to start new intentionally integrated schools to challenge the status quo and more communities who want to join the diverse-by-design movement.
The relationships we maintain through annual member meetings are what sustain the Diverse Charter Schools Coalition. It is what started this coalition 7 years ago – 14 members schools who saw a need for community and connection. Thank you for engaging with us and for sharing your input on where we go from here. We look forward to seeing you on screen at our Annual Convening in January!
