Resource Guide – Developing Cultures of Belonging in Intentionally Diverse Schools

During the 25-26 school year, 68 participants from 34 DCSC member schools gathered in our Communities of Practice (CoP) to develop resources for the field of intentionally diverse charter school practitioners.

Connect as leaders. Grow expertise. Bring justice to education.

In this Community of Practice facilitated by RootsConnectED, participants

  • developed knowledge and understanding around the 4 elements of belonging;
  • built a shared understanding of a key element of belonging;
  • define the elements of effective community builders and explore their application through a chosen project pathway,
  • plan, implement, and reflect on a targeted community building initiative or professional learning experience, using feedback and data to assess impact,
  • document and share their process, challenges, and insights in a way that supports peer learning and future application.
  • contribute to a collective toolkit and engage in peer exchange at a culminating convening.
