On September 30, 2021, the U.S. Department of Education released extensive guidance entitled Return to School Roadmap: Development and Implementing of Individualized Education Programs in the Least Restrictive Environment under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. In this webinar Wendy Tucker, CLE’s Senior Director of Policy, will discuss what the guidance says about critical issues facing schools 18 months into the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics include compensatory services in the wake of the pandemic, barriers to obtaining a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for students with increased health risks due to COVID-19, and the necessity of meeting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students with disabilities.
