22may7:30 pm9:30 pmCite Nite: What’s the connection between education accountability and segregation?

Event Details

Join NCSD for our first-ever Cite Nite, a quasi-book club for education practitioners, researchers, and advocates. The topic of this gathering is school assessment/accountability and segregation. A recent NCSD research brief, “Accountability Systems and the Persistence of School Segregation: Research Evidence and Future Directions” (https://www.school-diversity.org/RB16), examines empirical research to consider what, if any, relationship exists between systems of accountability and the persistence of school segregation. We’ll hear from authors James Noonan (Salem State University) and Peter Piazza (School Diversity Notebook), as well as experts Raquel Muñiz (Boston College) and David Martínez (University of South Carolina) on this topic as we explore the implications of the brief.
