I find myself reflecting on our time in Washington, DC at our 2020 convening and it feels like a completely different world. Since then, we have come to terms with a COVID-19 reality, experienced a racial reckoning unlike anything we’ve seen in a generation, and witnessed member schools doing whatever is necessary to provide instruction and support their communities.
Despite all of the challenges, members have stayed true to their missions – and so have we. DCSC has kept equity at our center as we continue to promote, expand, and support the diverse-by-design movement.
More than any other year, 2020 pushed our team to make sure we clarified the WHY of our work. To that end, we are proud to unveil our 2020 Annual Report and our restated core values which now reflect the mindset and culture that our team and organization use to drive our daily work: Community – Boldness – Learning – Strategy. We hold ourselves to these values and ask you to hold us accountable to them.
As we all look forward to what the new year will bring us, we must also embrace what this past year has revealed in regards to our collective compassion, resilience, and determination. We persisted.
Looking forward to seeing you on January 28-29th for our 7th Annual Convening!
